Last assignments

after doing the master shot we had to create two views of the same environment interacting with a the character of our own story, so I did one shot of him at the higgest point of the pyramid, looking at the sky, admiring the view of the village, talking to the gods.

Learning from other artist!

This assignment has been one of the most difficult so far, I feel, not only because its hard to study one style in just one week but make it work as well as all the other assignments we have to do. Anyway as hard as this was I really enjoyed it!, here is the result.

Light source_ This artist, Robin Joseph, has definitely a good sense of lightning and for what I learnt is that he likes to be very specific with his light source to help the audience see the shapes, therefore, his work has a lot of white and black in order to make it believable and strong, plus I think its such a good balance having both of this colors matching with the complementary ones that he always uses. So, for my layout, the light source is coming from the left corner on the top.

New Layout

Location_ science world

The first page is sort of what I am planning to do for my layout, as far as angle and contrast between having this little ball and just water kind of surrounding it. My approach will be to create something fantastical but real and pretty with no lines and just shapes and colors, like my reference above from the artist I chose.

The last two pages of photos are different angles from science world and objects like trees, buildings and statues from there.

Its so difficult to be able to choose an artist style as your favorite because there is so many good out there that are amazingly good, so, I choose one of the artists that inspires me the most, hes name is Robin Joseph, a character designer as well as visual development artist, such a great artist! Even though its going to be very very difficult to even try to study his style I know its going to be so much fun and I hope I can learn a lot!, so, here is some of his gorgeous designs for reference.

A lot of contrast with lightning as well as great sense of colour might  some of the reasons I love his style.

Beat Boards

Movie_
PULP FICTION

Director_
QUENTIN JEROME TARANTINO

I remember seeing this opening sequence and liking it sooo much, that I wanted to show it in my boarding assignment. I think the timing or the beat of this sequence is based on the close ups and the wide shots. It is all about the man trying to convince his lover to commit a robbery in a restaurant. They weren't thinking off doing that in the first place but as the conversation goes on he starts to get her more into doing it. There. Right now. No more Liquor store or gas station. There, at the restaurant.

I'm posting the real frames as well.
